The Hong Kong police arrested four men after uncovered explosive and a pipe bomb, government backed broadcaster RTHK reported.
Some protest related materials in a raid was found by the police on Tuesday evening at a flat in mong kok, a densely populated residential area .
Police also searched a house in Sheung shui, a town close to Hong Kong border with mainland China, which they suspect was being used a laboratory for producing explosives according to RTHK report.
According to the report the pipe bomb contain around 40 grams of explosive was detonated by bomb disposal experts and cause some damage in the building.
Hong Kong has been plagued by protests for months after a backlash against a now defunct ectradition bill which cities say would allow the communist party in mainland china .
Violent and clashes has included protesters and police.
